Introduction
The Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) is a national non-profit organization whose purpose is to enrich the teaching and learning of mathematics for students of all standards. AMT holds mathematics and informatics competitions, administer enrichment activities, conducts workshops for students and teachers, and publishes books on mathematical enrichment for Australian and international students. The AMT is based at the University of Canberra with representatives on our board from the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers, Australian Academy of Science and the Australian Mathematical Society.
The Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) competition focuses on the skills behind computer programming and algorithm design, but does not require any specific knowledge of programming or programming languages. There are 9 questions to be completed in one hour.

Format
The paper consists of 9 questions. 1-6 are multiple choice questions, each question is worth 3 points; 7-9 are fill in the blank questions, each question contains 3 sub-questions, each sub-question requires the student to submit an answer of an integer from 0-999 by calculating, each sub-question is worth two points; the total score is 36 points.

- A - Upper Primary (Grade 5–6)
- B - Junior (Grade 7– 8)
- C - Intermediate (Grade 9–10)
- D - Senior (Grade 11–12)

If, for some reason, the student is unable to attend after paying the fee, please contact us. If you apply before the registration deadline, 25% of the registration fee will be deducted as academic materials and service fees. If you apply after the registration deadline, no refund will be given.
