The Harvard Undergraduate Global Education Movement (HUGEM) is a Harvard student organization that enables Harvard students to host international programs that help shape the thinkers of tomorrow. HUGEM is home to a diverse array of cultures, with our team spanning members from over ten countries. What’s most important to us is our global community of students all over the world from the Americas to Asia. HUGEM lives by education as a vital component of our societies. Without the ability to critically think, communicate, and navigate collaboration, we would not be able to make the change we have today. About HUGEM Innovation Challenge
The HUGEM Innovation Challenge aims to shape the innovative thinking of the future in all fields. Also encouraging students around the world to find inspiration in everyday life and social issues, exploring relevant areas of knowledge, and developing practical skills for their future careers are purposes of the HIC. At the HUGEM Innovation Challenge, you will learn from the best minds around the world, form networks with experts from Harvard, and transform your knowledge into concrete impact.
HUGEM and ASEEDER is devoted to work together to run an in person HUGEM Innovation Challenge (HIC) conference in China, inviting middle school students keen at innovation to participate. The best innovation proposals at the conference would be shared with wider community and make bigger impact. Learn to use "Design Thinking" as a tool to innovate in different fields and become a Thinker of Tomorrow!
The first HUGEM Undergraduate Global Education Innovation Challenge (Harvard University) in 2025 will bring together a group of innovator representatives to the Harvard University campus to engage in innovation challenges, negotiations workshops, technical skills, etc. This endeavor aims to cultivate a sense of social responsibility and enhance the leadership, critical thinking, and innovation skills necessary to become future representatives of global citizenship.

Meet you in the Harvard
Students will be heading to Harvard University, the most creative university representative in the world, to beyond their limits through a series of intense, yet rewarding innovation challenges, negotiation simulations, technical workshops, and intellectual debates. Students will dive deep into the exploration of personally meaningful topics and grow substantially as the future leaders of tomorrow!
Interact with Chairs and Faculty from Harvard
Each chair from various fields at Harvard University and the faculty from Harvard University will provide academic guidance at the HUGEM Innovation Challenge (Harvard University). They will guide students in engaging with real-world social issues, critically study cases from around the globe, exchanging ideas, and cultivating deep friendships.
Publication of the Top projects
The top projects which win the team awards from the HIC(Harvard University) will be published in the HUGEM Innovation Challenge Journal and displayed on the The Harvard Undergraduate Global Education Movement (HUGEM) official website.
Certificates and Awards
Students who completed all the academic activities and final presentation will receive a official certificate of completion. Also, a variety of team awards and individual awards will encourage innovators' enthusiasm and outstanding performance.

Students will embark on a campus tour of the MIT and Harvard University, experiencing the rich academic atmosphere and unique charm of these institutions. This is also an unforgettable journey filled with anticipation for the world's top universities.

ESHA AHMAD
As one of the co-Presidnets of HUGEM,Esha Ahmad is a Winthrop House resident at Harvard College concentrating in Neuroscience with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy with a Spanish citation.At the college, she is an ambassador for the pre-health community on campus. In the realm of medicine, her passion lies in health equity and empathy-driven patient care.
SAAIM KHAN
Saaim Khan is a Mather House resident at Harvard College concentrating in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy and a citation in American Sign Language.He has spent over 4 years in numerous prestigious research labs across the United States investigating avenues to ameliorate hearing loss through various biological and clinical approaches.
KINGSHUK KUNDU
Kingshuk Kundu is at Quincy House concentrating in Computer Science with a secondary in Economics. At Harvard, he is part of the Harvard Computer Society, Harvard Ventures, and HUGEM. He also teach programming with the Harvard Student Association. Outside Harvard, he is interested in photography, cinematography, and software development.
MARIA FABAL
Maria Fabal is a Kirkland House resident and student at Harvard College concentrating in Neuroscience with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. On campus, she is involved in Engineers Without Borders where she designs hand and solar powered water pumps for a remote community in of 800 members who lack access to clean water and electricity.
MARWAN UWAYDAH
Marwan Uwaydah is an Eliot House resident at Harvard College concentrating in Economics with a secondary in Environmental Science and Public Policy. Back home, he is involved in projects that promote economic development and quality education in refugee camps.Alongside like-minded individuals, Marwan teaches at some schools in the camps, and has been actively soliciting directed donations to provide scholarships for refugee children interested in pursuing higher education.
DESIREE RICKETT
Desiree is a resident at Harvard College studying Economics with a minor in Government and citation in Spanish. Alongside HUGEM, Desiree works with various other organizations on campus focusing on education, cultural exchange, politics, foreign policy, business, law, and international relations.
Kevin Wang
At Harvard, Kevin studies Applied Mathematics, Economics, and Computer Science, with a language citation in Spanish. He is a core member of the Harvard Undergraduate Global Education Movement. He has represented and spoken at numerous innovation technology workshops and design thinking events held in Southeast Asia, Armenia, and other regions, dedicated to spreading the idea of "innovation changing the world" across the globe.

2. Students who did not qualify for advancement in the 2023-2024 HIC (China) should apply an equivalent English language score of IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80.
Or the student could apply recommendation letter from Scan the QR code and sign upan English teacher confirming the student's ability to participate in an English-language program, and an English interview with an ASEEDER teacher.
