Introduction
The Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) is a national non-profit organization whose purpose is to enrich the teaching and learning of mathematics for students of all standards. AMT hold mathematics and informatics challenge, administer enrichment activities, conducts workshops for students and teachers, and publishes books on mathematical enrichment for Australian and international students. The AMT is based at the University of Canberra with representatives on our board from the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers, Australian Academy of Science and the Australian Mathematical Society.
The AIMO is one of the challenges used to determine which students are selected to a number of invitation only events, including other mathematics challenges, enrichment classes and training schools. It gives talented students an opportunity to be recognised and to participate in activities which will enhance their enjoyment and knowledge of mathematics.It's a very challenging challenge for middle school students. Usually level C and D awarded students in AMC would attend this challenge.
